Whilst the 2021 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (SGLMG) festival is going to look very different this year, one thing is certain—Indeed is proudly joining forces with the organisation again as the Official Job Search Site of the event. Running from February 19 through to March 7, the festival involves an incredible program of performances, discussions, and of course the iconic parade—all designed around the theme of ‘Rise’.
Outside of this important collaboration, Indeed is committed to advancing, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging. Why? Because, it makes us a stronger, more successful company, and because it directly aligns with our mission to help all people get jobs.
For all employers, recruiters and job seekers wanting to learn more about issues surrounding diversity and inclusion, we have put together a list of resources that we hope you’ll find helpful. In the words of the SGLMG, “when we rise together through love, compassion, respect and understanding, we will all arrive to a better place.”
D&I resources for employers and recruiters
If you’re an employer or recruiter looking to learn more about the state of diversity and inclusion in Australian workplaces, or improve D&I practices at your own organisation, here are some handy resources you can reference:
Report: Diversity and inclusion in the workplace: Fostering an environment for all employees to thrive — Indeed surveyed more than 1,500 workers across the nation and found that almost half (46%) of Australian workers say that they either some, or all of the time, feel unable to be their true selves at work. Download the report to read the full results—and discover how you can create a diverse and inclusive environment that helps all employees thrive.
Panel discussion: Walking the Talk: Are We Failing at Diversity and Inclusion? — In this insightful discussion, Indeed was joined by representatives from RMIT University, GHD, and Diversity Partners, who each explored the evolution of diversity and inclusion in Australian workplaces, simple ways for companies to improve their D&I practices, tips on how to get buy-in from leadership, and where to start if you’re at the beginning of your diversity and inclusion journey.
